Details

In alignment with the school curriculum, the Education Bureau (EDB) organises “An Exploration into the Sport and Culture of Shanghai (2016/17)” (the Programme) for students to understand the construction and cultural features of Shanghai and to exchange sport skills with local students through participation in sports training. Students can also explore the development of sport and culture in Mainland from multiple perspectives.

This is a 4-day programme scheduled for 10 to 13 May 2017 in Shanghai.  Details and application procedures are attached at Annex 1 to Annex 3 (Chinese version only).

Each school can nominate at most two groups of participants (each group consists of 10 Secondary 3 to 5 students and 1 teacher) for the Programme.  While schools can encourage participation of students who have not participated in Mainland exchange programmes before, all participation must be on a voluntary basis.  Participants must be physically fit and in good health condition as they will participate in sport skills training and friendly matches with the Mainland students in the Programme.  Priority will be given to applications with more nominations of students of school sports team, students studying Physical Education (PE) at the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education level and PE teachers.  Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form (Annex 4, Chinese version only) to the Students Mainland Exchange Programme Section, Education Bureau at Room 934, 9/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong on or before 10 February 2017 (Friday).  Late submissions will not be accepted.
