Information Sheet of Programme Overview and Briefing Session for Students Mainland Exchange Programme (2017/18)

Upload Date : 4 May 2017

In alignment with the school curriculum, EDB offers opportunities for students to join various MEPs with an aim of providing them life-wide learning experiences to consolidate and reflect on their classroom learning, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of learning and teaching. MEPs also aim at strengthening students’ understanding of the history, culture, development and achievements of our country in different areas from multiple perspectives, and facilitating their reflection on the opportunities and challenges of our country’s development through personal experience.

MEPs mainly include EDB-commissioned programmes and school-based programmes organised by schools with EDB subsidies under relevant subvention schemes.  In both types of MEPs, teachers serve as learning facilitators to help students reflect on, enquire and discuss the learning points from multiple perspectives so as to consolidate and deepen their classroom learning, as well as to develop their collaboration, communication and study skills.

A briefing cum school-based experience sharing session will be organised on 12 May 2017 (Friday) . Apart from introducing the MEPs to be offered in the coming year and the latest arrangements for the two subvention schemes for school-based MEPs Junior Secondary and Upper Primary School Students Exchange Programme Subsidy Scheme: “Understanding Our Motherland” and Senior Secondary School Students Exchange Programme Subvention Scheme), there will be talks related to thematic MEPs and sharing of valuable experience from school teachers and students on how they implement and participate in Mainland exchange activities.
