In view of an increasing number of Hong Kong students pursuing further studies in the Mainland and Macau in recent years, the Education Bureau (EDB) organises the “An Exploration into the Prospect of Further Studies and Employment in the Mainland and Macau (2017/18)” Exchange Programme (the Programme).  Through visits to universities and enterprises, the Programme aims at enhancing students’ understanding of higher education in the area, such as Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen and Macau, the opportunities for further studies and career development in the Mainland and Macau due to the economic development and culture in the area.

Nominations are invited for participation in the following two routes of the Programme to be conducted from October 2017 to August 2018:

Route 1: An Exploration into the Prospect of Further Studies and Employment in Guangzhou and Shenzhen

Route 2: An Exploration into the Prospect of Further Studies and Employment in Zhuhai and Macau

Each trip will last for 2 days.  Students will visit two universities (except the University of Macau, the universities in the Mainland are those participating in the “Scheme for Admission of Hong Kong Students to Mainland Higher Education Institutions”) and one Mainland enterprise.  Details of the Programme are attached at Annex 1 and Annex 2 in the Circular Memorandum (Chinese version only).  Each school can nominate a maximum of 176 participants (160 S3 to S6 students and 16 teachers).  Schools may apply for joining either one route or both routes according to their needs.  Schools can encourage students who have not participated in Mainland exchange programmes before to join the Programme, and all participation is on a voluntary basis.

EDB has commissioned a service provider to conduct the Programme.  Interested schools can download the application form from the website of the service provider, and return the completed application form to the service provider by fax at least three weeks prior to the departure of the study trip they intend to join.
