This circular memorandum invites secondary schools to nominate Secondary 3 to 6 students and school teachers (including principals) to participate in the captioned programme.

 

Details

 

The Education Bureau (EDB) organises the Mainland exchange programme for students entitled “An Exploration into the History, Culture and Economic Development of Xian – Starting Point of Silk Road (2017/18).  This Programme, in line with the school curriculum, aims at enhancing students’ understanding of the history and important archaeological findings as well as the economic development of Xian.  Students can also appreciate the distinctive Chinese culture and reflect on the opportunities brought about by our country’ strategic economic development.

 

This Programme consists of the following 2 identical 5-day study tours.  Each tour offers a quota of 80 Secondary 3 to 6 students and 8 teachers.

Tour A: 25 – 29 March 2018

Tour B: 26 – 30 March 2018

Details and the application procedures are attached at Annex 1 to Annex 3 (Chinese version only).

 

Each school can nominate at most two groups of participants (each group consists of 10 Secondary 3 to 6 students and 1 teacher) for the Programme.  Schools can encourage students who have not participated in Mainland exchange programmes before to join this Programme, and all participation is on a voluntary basis.  Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form (Annex 4,Chinese version only) to the Students Mainland Exchange Programme Section of EDB at 1140, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen’s Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong on or before 24 January 2018 (Wednesday).  Late submissions will not be accepted.
