This circular memorandum invites secondary schools and special schools to nominate Secondary 2 to 5 students and school teachers (including principals) to participate in the captioned programme.




The Education Bureau (EDB) organises the Mainland exchange programme entitled “An Exploration into the Arts and Culture in Beijing (2017/18) (the Programme) with the aim of enhancing students’ understanding of Beijing’s development in visual art and dance, and its aristic and cultural characteristics.  Students can also explore the school life of Mainland students specialising in arts so that they can reflect on the opportunities and challenges brought about by our country’s development.


This programme consists of two parallel study tours in Beijing, scheduled for 8 to 11 May 2018:

Tour A:    focuses on visual arts (offering 40 student and 4 teacher exchange quota)

Tour B:    focuses on dance (offering 40 student and 4 teacher exchange quota)

Each school can nominate at mosttwo groups of participants (each group consists of 10 Secondary 2 to 5 students and 1 teacher) for the Programme.  Schools can encourage students who have not participated in Mainland exchange programmes before to join the Programme, and all participation is on a voluntary basis.  Priority will be given to schools nominating more students who are members of the arts or dance club, taking visual arts or physical education of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Educaiton Examination and teachers of visual arts or physical education/dance.  Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form (Annex 4, Chinese version only) to the Students Mainland Exchange Programme Section of EDB by fax (3104 0716) on or before 28 February 2018 (Wednesday).  Late submissions will not be accepted.
