Information Sheet of Programme Overview and Briefing cum Sharing Session on Students Mainland Exchange Programme (2019/20)

Upload Date : 6 May 2019

In alignment with the curriculum, the EDB organises Mainland exchange programmes with an aim of providing students with life-wide learning experiences to consolidate and deepen their classroom learning.  Mainland exchange programmes also aim at strengthening students’ understanding of the development of our country in different areas, such as history, culture and technology, from multiple perspectives through personal experience, thereby facilitating their reflection on the opportunities and challenges brought about by our country’s development.

Mainland exchange programmes mainly include the commissioned programmes by the EDB and the programmes organised by schools with the subsidies from the EDB.  Teachers should be deployed by schools to serve as learning facilitators to help students reflect on, enquire and discuss the learning points from multiple perspectives so as to enhance the learning effectiveness and develop their collaboration, communication and study skills.  Schools can encourage students who have not participated in any Mainland exchange programmes before to join, and all participation is on a voluntary basis.

A briefing cum sharing session will be organised on 20 June 2019 (Thursday).  Apart from introducing the Mainland exchange programmes to be offered in the coming year and the latest development of Mainland exchange programmes, there will be thematic talks related to Mainland exchange programmes and sharing of valuable experience from school teachers on how they implement and participate in Mainland exchange activities.
