This circular memorandum invites secondary schools to nominate Secondary 2 to 5 students and school teachers (including principals) to participate in the captioned programme.

The Education Bureau (EDB) organises the Mainland exchange programme for students entitled ‘Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China cum the 10th Anniversary of the Founding of “Passing on the Torch Platform” – An Exploration into the History, Culture and Innovative Technologies of Beijing and Wuhan’ (the Programme). In line with the curriculum, the Programme aims to enhance students’ understanding of our country’s historical development and achievements. Students can also reflect on the opportunities and challenges brought about by our country’s development.

This 6-day programme is scheduled for 6 to 11 July 2019. Details and application procedures are attached at Annex 1 to Annex 3 (Chinese version only).

Each school can nominate at most four groups of participants (each group consists of 10 Secondary 2 to 5 students and 1 teacher) for the Programme. Schools can encourage students who have not participated in any Mainland exchange programmes before to join this Programme, and all participation is on a voluntary basis. Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form (Annex 4, Chinese version only) to the Students Mainland Exchange Programme Section of the EDB by fax (3104 4804) on or before 25 April 2019 (Thursday). Late submissions
will not be accepted.
