The Education Bureau (EDB) organises the Mainland exchange programme for students  entitled “An Exploration into the Arts and Culture in Beijing (2019/20)” (the Programme).  In line with the curriculum, the Programme aims to enhance students’ understanding of Beijing’s development in arts education and its artistic and cultural characteristics.  Students can also explore the school life of Mainland students specialising in arts so that they can reflect on the opportunities brought about by our country’s development.

This programme consists of two parallel study tours in Beijing, scheduled for 23 to 26 October 2019:

Tour A - focuses on visual arts & Tour B - focuses on drama

The programme offers a total of 80 student and 8 teacher exchange quota.  Details and application procedures are attached at Annex 1 to Annex 3 (Chinese version only).

Each school can nominate at mosttwo groups of participants (each group consists of 10 Secondary 2 to 5 students and 1 teacher) for the Programme.  Schools can encourage students who have not participated in any Mainland exchange programmes before to join this Programme, and all participation is on a voluntary basis.  Priority will be given to schools nominating more students who are members of the arts or drama/film club, taking Visual Arts in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination and teachers of Visual Arts or Drama.  Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form (Annex 4, Chinese version only) to the Students Mainland Exchange Programme Section of the EDB by fax (3104 0716) on or before 3 July 2019 (Wednesday).  Late submissions will not be accepted.
