Mainland Exchange Programme for Secondary Students - An Exploration of Guangdong and Guangxi 2019/20
Summary
This circular memorandum invites secondary and special schools to nominate Secondary 3 to Secondary 6 students and teachers (including principals) to participate in the captioned programme.
Details
The Education Bureau (EDB) organises the “Mainland Exchange Programme for Secondary Students - An Exploration of Guangdong and Guangxi 2019/20” (the Programme). The Programme aims at providing different learning experiences for students to enhance their understanding of the history, culture, innovative technology, economic development, sports, environmental protection as well as natural landscape in the Mainland (including Guangzhou, Dongguan, Heyuan, Guilin, Yangshuo and Hezhou).
The EDB has commissioned different service providers to organise 7 trips for the Programme between September 2019 and August 2020. The duration of the trips ranges from two to three days. Students from Secondary 3 to Secondary 6 may participate. These 7 trips include 5 trips in Guangdong Province and 2 trips in Guangxi. Please refer to Annex 1 (Chinese version only) for details of the Programme and application procedures, and Annex 2 (Chinese version only) for the itineraries and other information of these 7 trips.
Schools may apply for joining more than one of the trips within the 2019/20 school year and encourage students who have not participated in Mainland exchange programmes before to join. Participation of studentsis on a voluntary basis.
Schools which would like to nominate their students to participate in the Programme should download the application form(s) from the website(s) of the relevant service provider(s). The completed application form(s) should be returned to relevant service provider(s) by fax within the specified period of time [Please refer to Annex 2 (Chinese version only)] prior to the departure of the trip(s) which the school intends to join.
