Mainland Exchange Programme for Students “Passing on the Torch Platform” Programme Series: An Exploration into the Innovative Technologies and Creative Arts in Shanghai and Hangzhou 2019/20

This circular memorandum invites secondary schools and special schools to nominate Secondary 3 to Secondary 6 students and teachers (including principals) to participate in the captioned programme.

The Education Bureau (EDB) organises the Mainland exchange programme for students entitled ‘“Passing on the Torch Platform” Programme Series: An Exploration into the Innovative Technologies and Creative Arts in Shanghai and Hangzhou 2019/20’ (the Programme). The Programme aims at providing different learning experiences for students to enhance their understanding of the development of innovative technologies and smart city of our country as well as the opportunities brought about by the development of creative arts.
This is a 4-day programme scheduled for 27 to 30 November 2019 in Shanghai and Hangzhou. Details and application procedures are attached at Annex 1 to Annex 3 (Chinese version only).
Each school can nominate at most two groups of participants (each group consists of 10 Secondary 3 to Secondary 6 students and 1 teacher) for the Programme. Schools can encourage students who have not participated in Mainland exchange programmes before to join. Participation of students is on a voluntary basis.
Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form(s) (Annex 4, Chinese version only) to the Students Mainland Exchange Programme Section of the EDB by fax (3104 4804) on or before 17 October 2019 (Thursday). Late submissions will not be accepted.
