Mainland Exchange Programme for Students An Exploration into the Maritime Silk Road and Culture in Shanghai and Ningbo (2019/20)

Summary

 

This circular memorandum invites secondary schools and special schools to nominate Secondary 1 to Secondary 5 students and teachers (including principals) to participate in the captioned programme.

 

Details

 

The Education Bureau (EDB) organises “An Exploration into the Maritime Silk Road and Culture in Shanghai and Ningbo 2019/20” (the Programme) which aims at providing life-wide learning experiences for students to enhance their understanding of the culture and history of Shanghai and Ningbo as well as the development of the Belt and Road Initiative of our country.  Students can also explore the opportunities brought about to Ningbo and Hong Kong by the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

This programme consists of the following 2 identical 5-day study tours.

Tour A: 24 – 28 February 2020  (Quota: 80 students and 8 school teachers)

Tour B: 22 – 26 June 2020          (Quota: 80 students and 8 school teachers)

 

Details and application procedures are attached at Annex 1 to Annex 3 (Chinese version only).

 

Each school can nominate at most two groups of participants (each group consists of 10 Secondary 1 to Secondary 5 students and 1 teacher) for the Programme.  Schools can encourage students who have not participated in Mainland exchange programmes before to join. Participation of students is on a voluntary basis. 

 

Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form(s) (Annex 4, Chinese version only) to the Students Mainland Exchange Programme Section of the EDB by fax (3104 4804) on or before 15 January 2020 (Wednesday).  Late submissions will not be accepted.
