“Military Summer Camp for Hong Kong Youth” 2018

Details

The “Military Summer Camp for Hong Kong Youth” (the Summer Camp) is jointly organised by the Concerted Efforts Resource Centre, the Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Education Bureau.  Through discipline training and thematic talks, the Camp aims to develop morality and leadership potential among students, and to foster their endurance, self-discipline, compliance and spirit of unity.

The Summer Camp will be held in Gallipoli Lines (Fanling Barracks).It provides the opportunity for students to experience the daily life of the Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, acquire basic military knowledge and enhance their knowledge on national defence.  Details and application procedures are attached at Annex 1 to Annex 3 in the Circular Memorandum (Chinese version only).  The dates and target students for the Summer Camp are as follows:

 Schools can nominate interested students, both male and female, to participate in the Summer Camp according to the dates and target students provided at paragraph 3 above.  There will not be a limit on the maximum number of nominations.  The Organising Committee will conduct interviews to recruit eligible students for participation.  Students’ participation is on a voluntary basis.  Interested schools are requested to return the completed application form(s) (Annex 4, Chinese version only) by hand to the Reception Counter, 11/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen’s Road East, Wanchai on or before 5:00 p.m. of 18 April 2018.  Please do not deliver the application form(s) by post in order to protect personal data.  Late submission will not be accepted.
