Celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the Founding of the“Passing on the Torch” National Education Activity Series Platform: The Kick-off Ceremony cum Briefing Session on "Dreams to Greater Bay Area Come True" Itinerary Design Competition

The Education Bureau (EDB) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office (GBA Office) of the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau (CMAB) jointly organise the Celebration of the15th Anniversary of the Founding of the “Passing on the Torch” National Education Activity Series Platform: “Dreams to Greater Bay Area Come True” Itinerary Design Competition (the Competition) under Mainland Exchange Programmes for Students. The Competition aims to encourage students to design exchange programmes covering cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) as the destinations. Through data collection, students can deepen their understanding of the interconnectivity, history and culture, innovative technology, and development opportunities of the GBA cities, thereby broadening their horizon and cultivating their affection for our country. The EDB and the GBA Office of the CMAB will launch the Kick-off Ceremony cum Briefing Session (the Ceremony) on 14 October 2024 (Monday) to promote and let interested students learn more about the details of the Competition. The Ceremony also features a thematic seminar to introduce the latest development of the GBA. All students and teacher advisors intending to participate in the Competition are encouraged to attend the Ceremony. Interested schools are requested to download the Enrolment Form (Annex 2; Chinese version only) from the “Passing on the Torch” website (https://www.passontorch.org.hk/en/index.html) and email the completed form to the Life-wide Learning and Mainland Exchange Section 2 of the EDB (thematicmep2@edb.gov.hk) at or before 5 p.m. on 2 October 2024 (Wednesday).
For schools which would like to nominate students to participate in the Competition, please submit the duly completed proposals (Annex 3; Chinese version only) of the required format, which could be downloaded from the “Passing on the Torch” website (https://www.passontorch.org.hk/en/index.html) or the dedicated website (The dedicated website will be rolled out soon. Please refer to the “Passing on the Torch” website for details. ), to the EDB by email (thematicmep2@edb.gov.hk) at or before 11:59 p.m. on 20 December 2024 (Friday). Applications by post or in person will not be entertained. Late submissions will not be accepted. For the Competition’s major event dates, please refer to Annex 4 (Chinese version only).
